I'm getting sort of annoyed with my friend?

So in 2004 our city got hit by a tornado. Except the tornado was so weak that it was barely even clified as a tornado (it was pretty much just a really strong thunderstorm). Two of my friends' houses had a few shingles of their roof damaged. This happened 5 years ago but my friends will not stop talking about it! It's like they want me and my other friends to feel bad for them or something. Now they keep saying that they are super afraid of thunderstorms. I have another friend who was out driving while this happened and she is fine with storms and she even goes outside to watch them. I know of people who are left homeless after tornadoes but they still don't go around bragging that they were in a tornado and all that. They still love thunderstorms. I know that I don't have a right to tell them how to feel but it seems a little exaggerated how they practically scream when the tiniest little rumble is heard. I'm really interested in weather and look at storms and tornadoes from the scientific stand point but I wish they could just realize that there is a really small chance that they would be hurt by a tornado, especially where we live.
