How literal is the average Christians understanding of the biblical account of Jesus’ miracles?

Because I’ve noticed that a lot of them seem to have a 20-30% literal understanding of their Old Testament; it’s mainly the Ten Commandments and the parts about ity that Christians choose to take literally in the OT. But do most Christians choose to take the stories about Jesus’ miracles literally? I mean, do they seriously think that once upon a time, there was this virgin-born guy who walked on water, calmed a storm and cured people of blindness?
