Mccann the only defence for their recent actions gone?

I have concerns over the generally accepted view that the little girl was abducted by a stranger, like many I feel that something just does no add up. However putting that to one side the subsequent behaviour of the McCann seems extremely odd. I am however prepared to accept that you don't know how you'd act until it happened to you and that perhaps a large scale world wide publicity campaign is the best option. I believe the McCanns use this arguement to explain their globe trotting activities however on the blog Gerry states 'very disappointed that the blog was lifted almost in entirety by one newspaper yesterday after expressly forbidding such an approach!'. Surely if the aim was widest publicity they would welcome this and not complain about it, or is world wide publicity to recover their daughter not their real aim.
