Why are humans primitive?

howcome we think we're so damn smart if we act like primitive animals, fighting wars and destroying our own speices, we delcare land ownership and country boundary.pollute,etc. We are no more intelligent than our cavemen ancestors. (might as well go back to throwing sticks and stones) can't humanity UNITE as asingle race? what if tommorow we're invaded by aliens who can cooperate as speices. (not likely to happen...) but eventually in the far future when we go into space,humans will meet up with some other speices: be it a microcell organism or a full blown civilization. And,no i havenotbeen watching to much sci-fi. (hollywood does bad sci-fi portrayals)
