Christians: Is this what God means by forgiving trespes?

you know some people do not notice, they are condescending, should I forgive them for that? what if someone does something intentionally, like for instance, stealing from you, abuse, etc? how do you forgive them? those seem very difficult to forgive. i am not in the situation but how do you forgive?
