Nose piercing questions?

So i got my nose pierced last week and i was wondering how long im supposed to keep the stud in before changing it, the place that i got it done at said 2 weeks, but that doesnt seem like a very long time and i dont want it to close. My other question, is an i suppsed to twirl the nose stud when i clean it? or do i just clean around it?? thanks
