I live in baton rouge, LA.. my parents want me to go to lsu louisiana state university...?

i really want to go to michigan state university... i realize that i have to get out of this sad little state as soon as possible.... if someone goes to a university in this state they do not leave the state... i do not want to be trapped here... what should i do?
