Can you help me with this?

I was suppose to go to court march 4th where my ex was filing for visitation. So this morning the 3th of march I ge a call from a lawyer who says.The court got a motion for a continuance Im filing in the case of Blank Blank the court wanted me to determind if you have an objection to changing the date on that. What Im wondering does it sound like this is his lawyer for this case? Im almost 100% sure this lawyer dose not work in this kind of case just criminal so what could be going on? btw the guy has been in criminal trouble so he could be his lawyer in a criminal case, Please help
